Last night I read an article where the writer was practically saying that it is OK to make fun of fat people, because being fat is a choice that they made.
For some reason that I won’t discuss here, I didn’t want to answer in a comment , but I think people know me by now, I can’t keep my mouth shut (or my fingers away from the keyboard, in this case :P) when it comes to people making fun of each others’ weaknesses. So here I go again:
Why do people get fat?
There is no one answer to this question, as we are talking about millions of people, each with their own individual reasons, some of which could be psychological, others may be metabolic, hormonal, or simply unknown reasons.

I myself eat like crazy sometimes due to changes in hormones levels that lots of people experience, I however was blessed with both a proper education that allowed me to know what is happening with me, and a great metabolic system that takes care of what I eat. But I know that not everyone was blessed like me, and some do suffer due to these hormonal changes and their insufficiently functioning metabolic systems, which they have no control over. Some people eat relatively little, but still get fat, why? same reasons mentioned above!!!
Those were simple examples of why people get fat. I could go on for ever giving different reasons, but that is not the point of this article. The point is:
We have no right making fun of fat people…
It is only ignorant to think that everyone is completely healthy and is in control over his/her body, because none of us is. We all have our own medical/psychological issues, even if we are not fully aware of them. No one is perfect.
It makes me sad that we are this judgmental towards others whom we don’t even know, and that we simply assume that everyone enjoys the kind of life and body that we live in…
It has very little to do with how much you eat, it's more about how much exercise you get.
Changing a life style isn't easy and its not as simple as just doing it. When you have habits they are hard to give up, to some people food can be almost as addicting as drugs. I am overweight (50 lbs) Right now but I have been losing weight, the lifestyle change is not hard anymore but when I first started eating healthy and exercising I wasn't sure I could keep it up. I haven't had soda or junk food in two months now and pretty much only eat salad fish and fruits and drink a ton of water with some other foods thrown in on the weekends. My goal right now is to get in good enough shape to join the coast guard and hopefully I will be able to do it.
I really wish u best of luck with ur mission of losing weight and joining the coast guard :)
I think its not fun to make fun of others, however form or shape they are in.
It should be a world of doing unto others what we would like be done unto us.
I totally agree with you John, I am sure no1 likes to be mocked about such a thing, so why do people mock others?!!

I am sorry to tell u that this is not really the case for everyone, some people cannot control it for medical/psychological reasons, so this makes it exactly the same as making fun of a sick person; not very nice, is it?!!!
