US Soldiers Guilty of Theft

An American army member (Elbert W. George III) pleaded guilty for stealing and selling military equipment in Iraq, worth hundreds of thousands of Dollars, to be the second person (first being Roy Greene Jr.)to plead guilty for such a charge of theft within a period of less than two weeks.

George and Greene were stationed at an army base in Balad, Iraq, that disposes of excess military equipment. The equipment is either reallocated within the military, or donated to other government agencies, including local governments in the U.S., as well as the Iraqi military. -The Associated Press

According to the associated press, court records mentioned that the two soldiers, along with another soldier who has not been charged yet, stole a bus, eight trucks, 19 generators, five trailers and other items and sold them to an Iraqi businessman who paid them in $100 bills. To make between 4hundren thousands to 1 million dollars, which they split evenly between them.

See how fair these people are? everything is split evenly between them. Cannot got any fairer!

This is all because of recession.

Their family members must have lost their jobs.

We can’t blame recession for all the bad deeds done by people... that’s just not an excuse. when u have integrity, nothing can force u to steal, when u don’t have integrity, then u don’t need anything to force u, u’d just do it.... it is as simple as that.

Don’t get me wrong on this. I meant everyone knew what American troops would be doing in Iraq. If not western media, at least some Arab media should have carried a sting operation or something and got it out.

Everyone knows to where the oil from Iraq is going. At least in my knowledge, i didn’t come across such reports in mainstream media.

US soldiers are humans too. Why do we all forget that we all have those basic human tendencies in us.

@Ofentse: if I was given the chance, I wouldn’t have done it... that’s ethical human nature...
