Almost 10 days before the scheduled American pullout from Iraq’s urban centres, US forces on Saturday handed their base in the Baghdad neighbourhood of Sadr city to Iraqi forces, to be returned to its true owner, as called by the Commanding General of the 1st Cavalry Division, who mentioned that the price paid for this land was the souls of both US and Iraqi soldiers.

He then added that the Americans did not give Iraqis this place – as Iraqis have earned it, “paid with Iraqi blood, sweat and tears”; which triggers lots of thoughts about the American vision of what happened in Iraq, as to whether this invasion, and what was achieved by it, was really worth all the souls lost for it!!!
I mean, the American forces are the ones responsible for the death of a big number of Iraqis out there, as well as the homelessness of even a bigger number, not forgetting the fact that their invasion triggered all those suicidal attacks, which never existed before their presence on Iraqi soil. And by the end of the day, their whole invasion turned out to be aimless after the claimed weapons of mass destruction were never found, and now they are making it sound as if they fought a war FOR the Iraqi people, WITH the Iraqi people?!!! Do they really think that the world is this naive to fall for such sweet words after all of those souls lost in vain? I sure hope not, because if they really do think that the world is happy with their “Heroic” actions in Iraq, then the world is in a big big mess.
