Iraq :

X- US Marine Ryan Weemer is being prosecuted for killing unarmed Iraqis during the American war on Iraq. Weemer was caught while applying for a job in the secret service in 2006, when he had to do a polygraph test, and was asked about the most serious crime he has ever committed.

Weemer said that his squad murdered unarmed Iraqis in 2004, reason being lack of time to take the men to jail. The decision of killing those war prisoners was obviously taken with the knowledge, if not the encouragement of their superiors, and hence the reason behind Weemer’s pleading not guilty, as he claims to have been pressured by his superiors to deal with the captured men.

Dirty Secrets of a War

The sad thing is that this man is actually pleading not guilty because he was told to execute those Iraqis, and he was just carrying out instructions. So this man is publicly announcing that he has no brains to think for himself, and if someone with a higher rank tells him to put his head in an oven, he wont hesitate, won’t think twice, and would happily do it. But then again, is this really the case? Would this man do it if it was an American citizen standing in front of him, unarmed? I very much doubt that!!!

Another sad thing is the fact that Weemer’s dark side was uncovered through a polygraph test that he had to sit for when he applied for a job in the secret service, but guess what?!!! Not everyone who took part in this war will sit for a polygraph test, and they will probably carry their secrets with them to their graves, dirty secrets of a war unjustified.

It would be nice if there was some sort of governing body on this planet with the power or desire to actually prosecute Bush for his war crimes.

Amen to that...

Was it the administration that ordered killing or did officers down the line order it?

We need a formal inquiry into just what happened and who was specifically responsible

Weemer said in the recording: ”We called up to the platoon leader and the response was, ’Are they dead yet?’”

Obviously, as the trial started, Weemer is now saying that he and his squad killed the men after they suffered the death of one member of the squad, his best friend...

Details of the trial are all over the internet today if u’re into more details...

What the Bush administration has encouraged with no regrets or mercy in allowing that type of cruelty has made the
US look like monsters to the rest of the world. The worst part is that more than likely nothing will be done.

This has really just been the nature of modern warfare. You can't blame the soldiers this is the position they are put in. An interesting note about warfare in general since World War II is that 90% of the casualties are civillian..

It is sad that people are taking such crimes as a normal thing to happen, cz they aren’t.

My best advice to the world, Don't go to war. Don't ever start a war. Don't use aggression to justify war. Don't join an army lead by the insane.

I saw my dad die. He died from a gunshot to the head by his own hand. I don't know if I could live if I were the one to pull the trigger on someone else.

I can’t imagine any decent human being as able to kill another human being. but the sad thing is that guns are sometimes in the hand of those who are, well... not decent enough...

Disagree with the politicians all you like, but to spread such lies about the brave men and women who are willing to put their lives on the line, even for an ill-advised conflict like Iraq, is just disgusting.

Where I come from, when a man kills another unarmed man, we don’t call him brave, we have lots of other names for him, but brave is not one of them... criminal is one for starter.

This is what military occupation does to armies and sadly it is unavoidable because armies are built to fight other armies, when they fight a civilian population everything falls apart. If nothing is done soon, the atrocities committed in Vietnam will be dwarfed by the new atrocities of Iraq. But unlike the Vietnamese, the Iraqis NEVER forget and revenge will become their top priority. when the sons of the dead fathers grow up they will make sure Americans pay for what happened, and it won't be pretty.

That's what happened in the early seventies. There was a "Winter Soldier" campaign led by John Kerry. It had dozens of guys that testified to Congress about the war drimes they had done and had witnessed in Viet Nam.
But it turned out to be a scam. The most elementary fact checking showed that the "soldiers" were never in uniform. Or were posted to Germany and never saw Korea. It was a phony stunt to make people think that American soldiers were monsters.
It was phony. And this one will turn out the same way.
There have already been a bunch of "soldiers" that blogged or wrote about the crimes they saw in Iraq. And then have been exposed as phonies.

War crimes? There is no war like situation in Iraq.
It was an attack by US on Iraqi people and is still continuing.
US attacked Iraq in the name of searching weapons of mass destruction which they never found. They just wanted to capture the oil rich Iraq.

I am not sure it was about oil, it looked to me more like a son out for revenge over what happened with his daddy. Remember Iraq invaded Kuwait and Saddam escaped when Bush Sr. was president.

I think oil was the main reason behind US attack on Iraq.
If what you wrote, was the reason for attacking Iraq then it is more horrible and callous.

How much oil has actually come from there?

Does any one know?

Can not have been much because Saudi is still calling the shots on oil prices as far as I can see.

I try to read news from different countries every day just to get a balance, but I haven’t seen anything about huge oil shipments out of Iraq, have you?

I still think the truth has to be something uglier than just oil.

At the time it started, they had the excuse of hunting terrorists as a cover and later we found out that that was all it was was a cover. But there were really terrorists elsewhere and they were not even really making any real effort there. It could have just been complete incompetence but for some reason, I just don’t believe it.

To be honest guys, I am not sure about the reason behind the invasion in the first place, but I did hear reports about big amounts of oil mysteriously disappearing from Iraq on a daily basis.

Huge oil shipments are not coming out of Iraq but giant American refinery companies are doing all the works for America. America wanted to replace the Saddam by a pro America government there.

Wa’D,

When this man said not guilty,he was probably right. For him shooting these innocents would be something akin brushing aside the dirt.

As for shooting fellow americans...are they not the noble ones...and the rest of the earth inhabitants...leaving aside the ones in UK and some sumissive Nations dont really deserve to live.

In fact the less of the others...the more they will have for themselves...simple...let the arabians kill each other...same in iraq and afghanistan...let disease stalk africa and poverty asia...have to accept China and the sheikdoms...rest do away with.

Thats why he was probably letting out the actual truth.

Take care..

Hey Hari.
If that was his actual truth, then he probably needs to look for another one if he wants to continue living on this Earth peacefully, with other human beings, and other races...
