United Kingdom :

Walking around the streets of the United Kingdom, I couldn’t help but wonder;

How come I never heard about alcohol restricted areas in the streets of the UK before? How come it is considered a normal thing that no one talks about it, while when this law is applied in Arab countries, it is considered disrespectful for the people of that country because the government then would be thinking for them and not allowing them enough freedom to practice their rights?

Another thing that I’ve been wondering about lately is how come nuns can walk around while covering their hair and body, and showing their faces only; and it is pretty understandable and accepted by people, while it is considered some kind of suppression of women’s rights when the woman in concern is a Muslim one? It is also amazing how people assume right away that the Muslim girl is FORCED to cover up her hair, while eliminating the probability of free choice, the same choice that a nune is assumed to have made when she covered up her hair.

Blogging From The U.K.: Wondering!

Is our world today suffering a status of hypocrisy, double standards, or is there a proper justification that I personally am missing? Anyone?

Comparing nuns with muslim women do not make sense to me. Comparing There's in fact no comparison of muslim women to nuns as there no women are allowed in mosques in the first place.

Yes you can compare muslim women to christian women and then judge yourself...

Then that’s not an Islamic thing Sonu, it is a cultural thing that India needs to deal with indivdually, u can’t blame Islam for a cultural dysfunction now can u?!! All islamic countries I’ve been too allow women into mosques...

You can't deny that there are many regions and many muslims who force the women in their house to wear hijab. If you have the liberty to choose, that doesn't mean all the muslim women are liberated and free.

Hey Hannah, one gulf country does not represent the whole Islamic world, we all need to start reading some more or, after a thought, I think we need to get to know those cultures we’re talking about before judging and generalising, bcz media doesn’t seem to be giving the correct picture of different sides of the world...

Dear Friend,

Even You forget that before the Magna Carta....there was no vote for women in the highly developed United Kingdom...

And per se all those who were landed in Australia were the expelled ones.....without any rights or dignity...

It is basically the freedom that every individual wants....where at all do the religions come into play?

And how many Christians do accept everything thet the Pope tells them?

And how many christians are there who obey and follow the Vatican....

Hey Wa’d,

All That Anger...and that is what the world is about....

The Nuns have a Holy order that is accepted....

and the Muslims have a Holy order that is unaccepted...

Why...the Money bags and the upkeepers of Society today...are the deciders...

Why bother about all this clumsy stuff at all...

look all around and you will see the clash of the civilizations about to happen...

and what about those who starve and do not have even one square meal a day..

The world is round...and you came back to the basic stuff of might is right..

Forget equality....justice and freedon....95% donkeys....3% run the system and 2% own the system....

thats how it is...what say?

Yes we will....and when we still dont realize that Blood does not have any religion...

And neither does the DNA...genes or the RBC AND WBC...(within the blood)...

That means that anyone can follow anything or not follow anything...

Then why the classifications...can anyone predict where someone will be born...what religion....geography....or territory...???

very funny...what say....???

Beliefs....Humanity....emotions....honesty and humbleness do matter.....

and most important

respect everyone....what say?

Elders...innocents....childree\n....and opponents....

why the surprise siso? I’ve asked that to many christians before and actually none of them had a convincing answer. People tend to reject the other or l’enfer c’est les autres (hell is the others) as Sartre said. It’s a clash of cevilizations or maybe worse, one of the above statements says ”you can’t compare between christian and muslims women” as if muslim women are beneath those who are christians.
Yes we can compare human beings with each other, they are all humans and they have their own dignity and freedom to choose whatever they want.
ty for the post sis, tc

Tea Man, don’t u ever go to sleep???? u know that normal humans actually sleep doncha? :P

There’s a lot to tell u when I get back to Jordan, just give me 4 days or so, oh and the msn on my laptop isn’t working, so u better give me time to fix it kamaan... :P

now to the content of ur comment; I think its more than just a clash of civilisations, it’s generalisations, ignorance, and arrogance... well... among other things I guess.... I guess some just cannot -or would not- believe that we have the brains to think for ourselves.

Well, my msg for the day: I am free to think and act as I wish, I answer to God and only to God... oh, and it’s not just me, so how about u generalise concepts like this one? is this too much to ask for?!!!
