Iraq :

An American raid on an Iraqi house resulted in the death of a man and his wife. US army claimed that the raid targeted Iranian-Backed Shiite militants, and was approved by Iraqi forces.

Apology Not Accepted

This raid has triggered angry reactions in Iraq, as relatives of those killed said that they were pressing charges in order to bring those responsible to justice.

““We are a peaceful family and I’m still in shock at how they suddenly raided our house, vandalised everything and killed my brother and his wife,” said Iraqi police captain Mouammar Abdul-Munin, who was detained in the US operation along with six others and released after government protests”-The Jordan Times

Iraqi government represented by Prime Minister Nouri Al Malki also asked for an apology, and for such crimes to never be repeated again.

“Abdul-Munin said he and five others detained were bundled into helicopters with hoods over their heads and taken to an unknown destination where a female US officer interrogated them about their links to Iran and Iranian-backed militia.
“I said I’d never been in Iran before. After a while they came back to us and said ‘we are sorry’. ‘We acted on wrong information’,” he quoted the officer as saying.”-The Jordan Times

Apologies may be presented by the US forces, and may be accepted by the Iraqi government, but the memory of the tragedy will not be forgotten by the family of the lost ones.

You can't blame the soldiers - but at this point does anyone even question that its time to bring them home? Their presence is creating "terrorists" or "insurgents" just by the fact that they are at war and are required to act like it.

I am amazed by the ”don’t blame the soldiers” comments... Those people are not handed guns to act like puppets with no brains to think for themselves... they are to be blamed, and should be blamed and punished... I am sure this is how u’d feel if that was ur friend or family member who got killed there...

They are "outraged", when there is an unfortunate accident involving the US Military, with public chagrin for our govt. and soldiers. Yet, when some tard with an explosive vest blows a crowd of people up, it's business as usual......
Pull our troops out, and let the goons kill each other off.

Yes plz, get the hell out and let them deal with only the criminals inside, instead of having to deal with insiders and outsiders (American Army) all at once... is that too hard to understand?

Every time the Iraqis try to push US out, they are ID'd as terrorists and another airstrike is called in and more Iraqis die.

Yes Hussain... but I very much believe that ”For everything there is a time, and a time for everything under heaven”, and those responsible for the crimes will pay, if not in this life, then in another...

The US Military doesn't believe in "laws," they believe that "might makes right." And they will kill anyone who gets in their way.

Its not so. American forces are also helping the Iraqi people by giving them protection from the Al Quada. American military has started many programs to generate employment for the Iraqi people.

@lawrence... I am not sure if u read any news from Iraq before the Iraqi war, but I personally never heard of any suicide bombings in Iraq before the American invasion... So forgive me if I cannot consider their presence over there as any kind of help...

Oh, and if I was given the choice between living jobless yet safe with my family, or be given a job while having a family member/s killed in front of my eyes, I’d choose the first option...

U need to be exposed more to their living circumstances before judging on how great the American army is doing over there.

I thought Obama said he would pull out the US troops from Iraq once in power and bring to an end the war his country started.
1 Stars
Yes Rose, he made a plan for the army to be fully withdrawn from Iraq by 2010 I believe. But I guess they have to get as much ”terrorists” killed as they can before they leave...

Ironic huh!!!

Try living the life of an Iraqi then u can give ur opinion about this issue, cz as u sit safely in ur house God knows where in Canada, those people are fighting for the luxury of living...

Anti-American is a norm out there in the world... why, because of the ignorance among the American where they believe that they know what is better for other nations and force them to do it.

The Iraq invasion was a terrorist act by the US government and its army against a small country which did not pose any threats to the US and still so until they leave that country alone.

The United States of America leading the world with technological advancements coupled with an innate sense of Philanthropy could be the world leader in the uni-polar world but it has sadly turned to be the bully of the world. Is it not a time for introspection for the brats that why the US has become a whipping boy in the rest of world, in particular, Asian, african and Middle-east countries.

Well I guess they have taken their bullying way too far... and the rest of the world is watching...

Charities!!!

When I say Americans, I mean the Bush government and the ignorant people who elected it... TWICE.

However, Ignorance about the world is widely affecting most of the American people and giving for charities in one hand and electing a terrorist leader in the other is not accepted.
